“A mid-September launch provides hiring managers with a solid 3 months to run a thoughtful process before the Thanksgiving holiday arrives. After that, both sides are distracted and heads down with getting things closed and booking travel before year-end. Bonuses are paid out between January and March, candidates are resigning (often with counter offers), and garden leave (if applicable) is being satisfied. Often we’re looking at an April start date. Amazing how time evaporated.”
